forage-way

We’re lucky to have a footpath running through Crimsworth Farm and we love seeing people enjoying it, and caring for it and the abundant nature it supports. It has been planted up with a large number of edible trees and shrubs that require a lot of effort through the year to maintain to ensure the most edible produce from them; some for people, some for wildlife.

We run a forage-way volunteer group to help look after the forage-way with some simple tasks through the year. These include keeping an eye on when food is ready to pick, nettle pulling to reduce their number (with thick gloves!) and a gentle summer prune to keep access without cutting off fruiting stems nor disturbing nesting birds.

If you would like to pick food along the forage-way, please contact us to join our volunteer team to help maintain it and share tips on when and how to pick.
